I was born and raised in Sedona, Arizona and have lived in Colorado, Hawaii, and New York. I attended school at The College of Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I majored in Theater and minored in Music, and had a full liberal arts education. I then moved back to my beloved home state. I am an Arizona girl through and through. As for my work, I almost always explore one theme: identity. It's a matter of writing characters who act out of character and the consequences of this. It's also about place, how locale affects the identity of character, of the self, the selves. Recently, I realized that as I'm writing, I'm constantly telling myself to get out of the way. And yet, if you want to know who I am, read my work. How mysterious.
I've been published in 27 literary journals and nominated 3 times for the prestigious Pushcart Prize.
The print journals I've been in include The Ampersand Review, Quay, Salt Hill, Harpur Palate, The First Line, The Bullfight Review, Pebble Lake Review, and Sou'wester.
